The Other Side of the Planet

I am here. I am jet lagged. I am extremely excited.

I flew into Sydney yesterday in the wee hours of the morn. Although I had no idea at the time. Total disorientation would pretty accurately describe my self at that point. From there it was a short jump to Canberra and an ANU funded taxi ride to campus. Over all it was tiring, but I'm here now and I have slept.

The campus is really pretty, loads of trees and places to walk around. The dorm seems lovely. The people are all very friendly so far. I am stoked to be here and get started at Australia-ing. I'll write more when I do something more interesting than buying towels...

Up Top

Well, I'm not in Australia yet. Although, Los Angeles hardly seems high above anything else... I mean most of it's in a valley anyways, right? Oh, that's a little too technical.

ANYWAY, I'm really excited to get over to the land of kangaroos, didgeridoos, and other such silliness, which could only come from a massive island chilling by itself in the South Pacific. If all things go according to plan this blog will be much more interesting in the future, lots of sweet pics and stories of the amazing places I've been and people I've met.

If not, it will probably stay a lot like this. Sooooo, here's hoping for everyone's sake!

Haha, I did a Google image search for "australia" so I could have a majestic photograph for the first blog post. This kangaroo bounding into the sunset was first, and it pretty much sums it up other than a few maps and scuba diving photos. (and look at the title of the article it goes to!)

Australia now has more cell phones than people

YES! Kangaroos are getting cell phones. I smell a revolution.

But seriously, I'm stoked. I can't wait to learn about the people, the animals, the land, the history, etc. And I hope that doesn't sound cheesey because it's true. This is going to be amazing! Of course, I will do all this while surfing at least 12 times a week. Stay tuned...
